Don't let the rural backdrop fool you into thinking there is little to do close by... Quite the opposite, there is much to see and do for all the family.

100 yards down the road you will find Greenlands Farm Village where individuals and families can experience farm animals, cafe, arts & crafts, mini golf, kids play area, archery, helicopter rides and much more. You will also find the Longlands Hotel restaurant and bar opposite Greenlands Farm Village as well as Tewitfield Locks where you can enjoy the many scenic walks along the canal, while stopping off at the many canal pubs along the way... There are numerous cafes, restaurants and pubs within a short distance from the park.

You can grab a bus outside Greenlands Farm Village (going north) or the Longlands Hotel (going south), load up your car and stock up on supplies at the village of Carnforth or Burton In Kendal. You can also travel the area by train from Carnforth station. The historic city of Lancaster and Morecambe have much to offer. You can also take in the breath taking views across Morecambe Bay or at Arnside, whilst enjoying a picnic, fish & chips or an ice cream.

The local area is renowned for it's outstanding natural beauty with walks abound from the park entrance to Priest Hutton & Borwick and by car/bus to Warton where you can walk up Warton Crag and you will find many enjoyable walks around Silverdale & Arnside.

You will also find our famous Leighton Moss Nature Reserve on the way to Silverdale and Leighton Hall at Yealand where you can take a tour and see theatrical and motor shows during the summer months.
​
Scuba diving is available locally at Capernwray Diving Centre. Fancy a flying experience? We can offer you a microlight flight at Cockerham. For those looking for a luxury chauffeur driven tour then Lake District Car Tours can offer you a number of packages, collecting you from the park.

There's so much fun waiting to be had in Cumbria and the Lake District, you're going to have trouble cramming it all in. Enjoy a fun day out on a steam train or a relaxing lake cruise. Visit one of the areas award winning attractions or see if you can find your way out of the maize maze. The area is just perfect for families with children of all ages, from babies to big kids!

You will find the local villages good for a basic ride out or you can link to the many cycle routes in the area that you can access through our below guide. WALKING & CLIMBING
Get those walking or climbing boots on and get ready to go! You will find walks from the park entrance. The below guides and routes will keep you busy all day.
